Bio

Dr. Veneta Sotiropoulos is a seasoned marketing educator, researcher, and consultant with a distinguished career that spans more than two decades. She has served as an Associate Professor of Marketing at the School of Management at New York Institute of Technology since 2007. She earned her PhD in Marketing from HEC Montréal, one of the world’s top business schools affiliated with the University of Montreal.

 

With over 20 years of teaching experience and 26 years of research in marketing, Dr. Sotiropoulos brings a wealth of knowledge and exceptional analytical and research skills to the fields of consumer behavior, branding, social marketing, and strategic marketing. Her industry expertise extends across a diverse range of sectors, including consumer goods, beauty, luxury and fashion, financial services, and professional services.

 

Dr. Sotiropoulos has taught more than 200 marketing-related courses, delivering over 9,000 hours of instruction to undergraduate, MBA, executive, and professional students in North America, Europe, and Asia. Her teaching spans multiple formats—semester-long courses, short-duration intensives, workshops, and tutorials—and includes both in-person and digital platforms. She has also mentored nearly 1,000 student groups, helping learners translate theory into practical, strategic solutions.

 

She has published in peer-reviewed academic journals in marketing and business and has presented her work at global conferences. Her insights have been featured in online media outlets, where she has been sought out as an industry expert on topics such as consumer trends, brand positioning, and marketing innovation.

 

In addition to her teaching and research, Dr. Sotiropoulos has played an active role in curriculum development, program design, and academic assessment. She is widely recognized for her ability to bridge the gap between academic theory and real-world application, equipping her students and clients with the tools to think critically, act strategically, and lead with confidence in an evolving marketing landscape.
